ABOUT -YONA

I am a self-taught artist, living and working in Brooklyn, New York.  My artworks are driven by a deeply ingrained passion for capturing the emotion behind the eye of each individual. Also, creating records a specific time, person, animal or place is a major motivation for my art. Hundreds of hours can go into one piece to bring out their soul and drama, and I  treasure every moment of creating.

I started my artistic journey with graphite and over the years I have studied various materials. Working in various mediums has had a direct effect on the building of my skills as an artist. In my blog I’d love to share my tips and my daily work life.

Art in any form, whether while creating or observing, can have such a tremendous effect on our emotional well-being.
“Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life,” said the famous Spanish painter Pablo Picasso.
I hope my art can get you inspired and uplift your day. Thanks for visiting my gallery.

“Every portrait that is painted with feeling is a portrait of the artist, not of the sitter. The sitter is merely the accident, the occasion. It is not he who is revealed by the painter; it is rather the painter who, on the coloured canvas, reveals himself.”* ― Oscar Wilde, The Picture of Dorian Gray
